This highly complex Portuguese red leads with an inviting bouquet of wild berries and forest floor, complemented by a subtle toastiness from its time in barrel. On the palate, it is remarkably smooth and well-rounded, bursting with the flavours of hedgerow fruits. The finish is notably fresh, featuring a delicate ‘green’ or vegetal touch that adds a layer of sophistication. To achieve its velvety texture, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in-barrel and was matured for 11 months in seasoned 225-litre French oak, ensuring the wood remains beautifully integrated.
