The vineyards of Quinta da Romaneira, one of the great historic Quintas in Douro Valley, overlook the majestic Douro Rive, in a vast natural amphitheater of terraced rows of vines, carved out of the schistous rock that is the basis of the unique terroirof the property. This over Forty Year Old Tawny Port, made only from high quality grapes from Romaneira Vineyard, was vinified in lagares at the Quinta in the traditional way. A blend of wines that have aged in small oak barrels for over forty years, this powerful, complex and concentrated Port wine is a distillation of the the essence of our terroir. It can be enjoyed with various desserts. However it is perhaps best enjoyed on its own, in a contemplative moment at the end of a meal.
