The unique wines that combines tradition and patience to achieve richness and elegance.

As the name itself suggests, Terrus is a wine of the land, the purest expression of the terroir and the people who inhabit the heart of the Douro. It is a wine that embodies the soul of the region, born of the collective effort of those who, year after year, dedicate themselves to the quest for an Elixir of Long Life, as if engaged in an ancient alchemy.
The grapes, exclusive to the estate, come from 2 hectares of vineyard rooted in the steep and austere soils of Barrô, in the Baixo Corgo. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Souzão, and other experimental varieties compose this vibrant mosaic. Each vine is tended to throughout the year with care and respect, minimising the use of chemicals, in a commitment that treats the land as a cherished legacy. To care is to honour.
The calloused hands that harvest the grapes are the same ones that reverently transport them to the winery, where the essence of the land begins its transformation. In traditional granite lagares, the grapes are trodden by foot for 7 to 8 days, a time-honoured ritual that gently and precisely extracts the fruit’s full essence, under the watchful eye of the winemaker. The journey continues in stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation, and finally, into French oak barrels—both new and used—where Terrus rests for 12 to 18 months. This is a deliberately slow process, shaped by the nuances of each harvest. There is no haste, only patience and expertise.
Only after several years of bottle ageing is Terrus ready to be unveiled. It is at this point that it achieves the height of its complexity, harmony, and elegance. It promises to defy time, with the same grandeur as the Douro River that witnessed its birth, and the wisdom of those who understand the art of waiting to offer the very best.
